Isobel Costello

Isobel Costello is a Green Township native. Many would say she is a one of a kind! She was awarded 2018 NJ HomeTown Hero and has recently received the title as Miss. Green Township 2019.


Currently, Isobel is a senior in high school and created The Weekend Bag Program in 2016. At the time Isobel was a freshman in high school and already had a lot of after school commitments and activities piling up. Isobel is very passionate about music and plays the Alto Saxophone, Acoustic and Electric guitar, as well as the Trombone. She is an active Girl Scout, enjoys kick boxing, playing in the school bands, and is now a 2 year officer in her FFA club in school. 

Isobel is very passionate about agriculture and in her Newton FFA chapter has participated in over 5 CDE (Career Development Events) competitions. Making it to the National Competition twice in a row, once for Livestock Judging and once for Dairy cattle Judging. Her Junior year she was the Secretary for the Newton FFA Chapter, and is now the Vice President of the chapter. She also managed and help build a Hydroponic system in her high schools Green House. 

Isobel plays instruments in the Newton High Schools Honors Wind Ensemble, Jazz, and Marching band as well as various Ensemble Bands. In these bands she plays Alto Saxophone and Trombone. Outside of school she plays Electric and Acoustic guitar.
